Drink more water. Several pints per day. It dilutes the phlegm and mucus. Also do regular breathing exercises like those shown on YouTube.

As Rib says, drink more water; and try gargling a cup hot salty water, and use the whole cup up. Also try hot lemonade & if no good, try Carbocisteine as well?

Good luck, I get similar. I thnk it can be caused by acid reflux, so you could try a PPI (omeprazole or the like) too.

Sounds like post-nasal drip. Do you have sinus problems? The best remedy I've found is to use a Neti-pot such as Neilmed. People hate the thought of it, but it's cheap, non-medical and gives enormous relief. I actually find it quite pleasant to use.

Hi Mackie I have it every day some times it's so thick I'm choking on it I don't know how there's so much the doc has given me muccodyne syrup to thin it down which it is making it easier to get up hope that's helpful to you Kathy x

I have a steam inhaler pot, comes with nose-mouth piece. I use tiny piece of menthol flake and a few drops of eucalyptus oil..............5 or 10 minutes and I can clear my chest and get a deeper breath.......
