Blue Badge Horror Result!

my Blue Badge arrived today, 3 working days after my assessment. It just shows that they can do the right thing when the MP starts asking questions. I know it is difficult when you are ill and exhausted but do protect yourselves and stand up to them. You all have an MP and you pay the wages of all of these people.

Well done you for fighting back. And good advice about getting our MPs involved on our behalf.

Great result! :-)

What a relief. And good for you for taking a stand. Doesn't it make you wonder why they started all that nonsense in the first place? Jobsworths????

Oh that's great well done I am so pleased for you. We have a great MP here who has already helped my mother re housing and me re council tax. It's amazing what happens when an MP gets involved. x

The point is, we should not have to go to our MP or whatever. The problem, if there is one, should be sorted at the beginning

Hi Lolly,

You are so right. The funny thing with my case is that I was assessed by an occupational therapist who had no idea what it is like to live with heart and lung problems but was very willing to learn. At one point she asked me why I didn't use a walking aid on wheels. My friend laughed and asked her who would lift it into the car, out of the car, up the pavement. 'this is a breathing and energy matter, not a limb problem! She was surprised and wrote it down. Anyway she was disgusted that I had been sent, gave me a PIP claim form and phoned my CC to tell them to renew the badge NOW. This call crossed with the MPs letter. I have also had to use him because the QE in Bham refused to admit me on to my consultant's ward with pneumonia an empyema( I have been with them 20 years!) They told my GP to send me to my local hospital who do not know me and have no expertise in lung conditions. I went to QE by A&E then contacted MP. Result, grovelling letter from head of the trust. All this is hard when you are absolutely wiped out with a temp of 40 and no breathing at all. I now have PIP with enhanced mobility so no more assessments until 2025 ( if I make it)
