Hi, I am on the elderly side of life, have always been very fit, and have developed arrhythmia and atrial fib. which has got worse lately. On meds and experimenting with herbal medicine prescribed by a medical herbalist. I know my diastolic BP is especially low at night and am wondering about bed blocks to help this. Anyone any experience of raising one end of the bed with my condition?

In addition am sensitive to wifi, use of which has increased exponentially over past 3 years or so - guess why. Now have to protect myself with special fabric shawl in places which are crowded with people using mobiles - e.g. cafes - if I am there for more than an hour. This might be of interest as heart palpitations one side effect of wifi sensitivity. I have this sensitivity noted down in my medical notes at my request.

I have had extreme sensitivity to noise for most of my life .....loud music and deep beat in particular. It is now classified as a medical disorder, not tinnitus.I had CBT for a while but it did not help me. Most people do not understand it so it very difficult for others to understand why I often want to rush away from gatherings and meetings etc.,including my own family....who are fairly quiet people.

Hi Sam

That’s a very interesting post, I’ve never heard of wifi sensitivity. How do the symptoms manifest?

My Nan has bed blocks, she’s in her 80s and has found them to be of great benefit to her. We got them along with a remote controlled bed and an easy rise type electric chair after she had a fall and doesn’t know how she fell.

I hope things go well with the medical herbalist and you can find a solution that helps you to get your symptoms under control effectively 💛

Best wishes

Thanks MummaSoap. Don't think my last reply was sent so I'll try again. Symptoms are pain in hand when holding mobile; flitting headaches and eye pain; fog brain. Re: bed blocks, I asked the doc and she suggested another ECG and also to make an apt. for the practice nurse to take my bp in different positions to check for postural hypotension. She wants this done first. Glad the blocks helped your Nan. Thanks for your best wishes. x

Very interesting comment about wifi.

We can get easily into conspiracy theory here but it seems many people may have sensitivity to Electro magnetic interference and being too close to mobile phones, servers etc may cause problems.

There is lots of stuff on 5G masts which operate on different frequencies to 4g and due to the nature of the signal require many more masts. We really need to do more work on examining the impact of such things before we roll them out.

Too right! But no such work is being done. It's the elephant in the room as too much money is involved and too much is being already planned and implemented - like the internet of things - for the voices of dissent to be given attention.
