1000's of PVCs!

So about 5 weeks ago, out of nowhere, I started with PVCs constantly over a 24 hour period. It stopped the next day. It happened again 2 days later, again gor 24 hours. Then about 4 days after that, I was woken up at 4am by really strong heart flutters. I got up, went to work (I work in cardiac theatres. How ironing!) everything was fine whilst I was at work. At the end of my shift I got the bus home. The PVCs suddenly started again on the bus. I nearly had a panic attack. They subsided when I got off the bus.

I fell asleep about 10pm but was woken at 10.30 with a constant run that ended up lasting 4 days. I was having 60 beats everyone for 4 days with just a few breaks in between. Needless to say I ended up in A&E but they said I was alright and sent me home with bisoprolol. It doesn't work! It started again 3 days ago! Sleepless nights, time off work I can't do my normal daily things anymore. A&E still saying I'm fine 😡😡 I think these doctors think I'm just have a few within 24 hours. Occasionally my heart hasn't even beat its just fluttered through an episode lasting about 20 seconds. I couldn't even breathe cause my heart wasn't beating. I don't know what to do because I don't feel listened to. I'm sat here suffering and ganging onto my career by a single thread.

I am so so depressed from this agonising condition and I'm not being taken seriously. Its not like I have mental health illnesses normally, but I feel like taking my life because if this is how my life will be from now on, then I do not want it.

Hello :-)

There feels nothing worse than not been listened to especially as I always think we know are own bodies better than anyone else

But taking your own life and I know that feeling is seriously not the answer and please phone the Samaritans talk to family and friends when you fee this way it is good to get it all out and does help

A&E as you know are there to sort out initial issues but when they d not get resolved it is time I think that you speak with your Doctor so not take no for an answer and ask to be referred there could be a wait I know but you will have started on the road in finding out what is causing this to continue happening

I find it hard to be assertive bit sometimes we have to so make that call get an appointment you owe this to yourself and ask for a referral

Also tell them how this is making you feel don't hold back

Please let us know how you get and never give up no mater how bad you feel :-) x

HiI agree with Bekind.

I was in a similar position to you 2 years ago, and took them at their word that a low dose of Bisoprolol (which didn't help at all) was all I needed. I left it 2 years to go back to my GP because I felt I was being treated as though I was making a fuss about nothing. I finally went back to my GP a couple of months ago and have recently been diagnosed with constant AF, 2 leaking valves, enlarged upper chambers and heart failure. They are currently swapping and changing several medications to attempt to slow my heart rate down, which insists on staying up in the 100's the majority of the time.

You really need to visit your GP and voice your concerns sooner rather than later. Insist that the Bisoprolol isn't helping (I really wish I had done that now), and as Bekind said, tell them about the impact its having on your mental health. I would also mention the impact on your working life too.

I worked in care and couldn't physically cope with my work in the end, but I was lucky enough to be in a position to retire a year early.

I hope you are taken seriously very soon, I know how frustrating it is when you feel that you're not being listened to, take care.
