Bad night 😒

In some pain tonight and it just doesn't matter how many doctors have told me about other conditions that relate to pain in the chest area , that have , it doesn't make me worry less .I'm just over 1 year since my heart attack and it's completely messed my head up .

Also realising I was told I would be taking ticagrelor for 1 year only, but no one has told me to stop taking it , has anyone been on it longer than a year?

Hello Dawn :-)

I am so sorry you are struggling tonight and I know how hard it is to try and stay calm especially after we have had a heart attack stents and Bypasses for some of us every pain or sensation we get stends us straight back to the event and the fear comes in that it is happening again

The Doctors are right though even though it can be hard to believe them that there are more things than heart attacks that can give pain in the chest area

They will have checked you over and if they had any doubts they would not send you away they would have you in there as you are now on their radar

I am struggling as I am on antibiotics at the moment and they are giving me side effects one is that they are making every muscle hurt and cause pain this is a side effect and before my heart issues I thought nothing about these side effects whenever I was put on them I just waited to finish the course knowing they would go

This is the first time I have been on them again since my heart attacks and my aching arms are freaking me out as I got that sensation when I had my heart attacks but with my Husbands help I know deep down it is down to these meds but it is a battle dealing with my fear and what my head is trying to tell me

So I do understand how you are feeling

I have to say this though but not to frighten you but if you think this is anything more you need to phone 111 or an ambulance but you know that and I know you would but you have posted instead because like all of us we want someone to give us a listening ear and let us know we are not alone

Try and distract yourself get a warm drink put an app on a relaxing one and try and get some sleep , try and distract your mind the best you can :-)

I wish you a Happy Christmas and let us know how you are and when the Holidays are over I think a visit to the Doctors and asking for more support is what I would do even if it is just for your anxiety and how you are struggling

I hope you get the help you need and deserve :-) x

Hello :-)

I hope you are feeling a little bit better this Morning and you will have the best day you can :-)

I did forget to say in my reply don't worry you are still taking Ticagrelor for now but just contact your Doctor after Christmas and ask if you are now suppose to come of them

I was on them a little bit longer than a year they won't harm you but I know it will be nice to have one tablet less so just ask when they open again what is happening :-)

Happy Christmas 🎄:-) x

I was told that too. No one told me to come off Ticegralor or revised me, it just disappeared from my repeat prescriptions so maybe they’ve just forgotten to tell you you can stop? I’ve just realised how frightened lots of us are as I’m new to the group but just knowing that I’m ‘normal’ has already made me feel a bit better about myself. Take care xx

Hello, I am on ticagrelor and well into my second year of taking it at a reduced dose (60mg twice a day). I expect to continue for 2 or 3 more years. Some people are now getting it for longer as studies appear to show it has a beneficial effect. So it may not be an accident but I would check with your GP or cardiologist.

If you are tolerating ticagrelor well (and don't mind the bruises) then there should not be a problem while you find out whether you are supposed to continue with it or not.

Hi , I hope you have had a better night, I think we all go through the same thing with pains in the chest area, especially at night, I find I suffer if a little stressed about things, do you ever use your spray when this happens and does it relieve your pain? As regards the ticagrelor, it is now quite common to keep taking this for longer by what I have read on here.

Keep well Dave.
