Dear E16Pat

It's completely been biblical down here in Southampton. The dog hates it and this creeping dampness and gloom seems to fill the day.

But this morning cranked over the river Hamble was the most spectacular rainbow, and I don't care what people say about them you would have to be a very miserable so and so not to smile at it.

The gloom will lift, the sum will shine and my dog will be happy once again.

Hello :-)

No rain here as yet but no doubt we will get some

Still feels miserable though but this time of year can be hard for so many to cope with it can really affect your mood as well as the dark nights

You are not on your own how you are feeling :-) x

It’s that down time limbo now between we have had the summer and it’s not quite the Christmas fun yet. Try and remembered that each extra day has been a gift to us all and there is always someone who is feeling worse there for we must make the most of what we have at the time.

I’m on the slow recovery time now but I’m starting to get back into my walking and when it rains just turn back into being a big kid, put on your wet weather gear or just old clothes go out find all the mud and puddles you can and jump in them im lucky Im not far away from fields and hills.

REMEMBER YOU NEVER SEE A SAD CHILD WITH THEIR WELLIES ON PLAYING IN THE RAIN❤️

I'd add to that our dog, 4 year old cocker spaniel. Foggy and gloomy here in central Europe, but to see her reaction to the puddles from Friday's rain really cheered up my wife and I when out with her this afternoon. Enjoy your walks.

I love all of our British seasons. At the moment I'm thinking about Christmas and who I need to buy presents for. Also, should I buy a second set of Christmas bedding. A friend has teased me by showing me about 4 sets she's just bought.

I wake earlier in the mornings right now and feel I'm in charge of the day. When it's a dull rainy afternoon I feel I can relax at home and perhaps watch a Christmas film. I have loads recorded. If it's sunny I feel I have to be outside tidying up the garden and cutting back shrubs. Phew! Honestly the grass on my lawn has grown 2-3 ins since being cut a week ago.

I've been poorly lately, just over 6 weeks ago I had both Voldermort (that which can't be named) and pneumonia together and spent 4 days in hospital, so doing my best now to get over that and return to full fitness. Oh yes, forgot to say my heart took off racing just to add to the fun of being in hospital, still doing it now at times.

Beautiful sunshine here in South Devon, but the ground is soaking wet.

Be happy everyone.

Hello Jean :-)

I am so sorry you caught it and had pneumonia to that was my biggest fear and still is after having it before you know what and ending up in ressustation

I am so pleased you are a lot better now and your attitude towards life just made me feel so envious that I cannot be like you :-)

Get another set of Christmas bedding , why not you deserve it :-) x

Search for Christmas bedding online. I tell you seeing it on my bed brings joy, but then I love everything about Christmas. At the moment I'm trying to learn the words of Joy to the World. I see myself at the National Trust property I volunteer at singing this song when the piano player starts to play it. Of course, in reality I'd never have the nerve and no one in the world would admire my singing, but I can have my dreams.

It sounds lovely. Mine is red background with white trees. snowflakes and reindeer. The enjoyment of them soothes the soul and heart, medicine of a different kind for our hearts. Other than that, I have plain white broderie anglaise edged bedding to which I add a red and white throw and a red cushion.

Enjoy the gardening, Jean, enjoy the relaxing as well. I like the idea of being in charge of the day.

I hear you! Rained for a bit, then stopped so not as bad. Sometimes a dark dingy day is an excuse to self indulge - sofa and duvet and telly. Find a movie you like, it won’t cure your ails but it’ll pass a little time. I’ve been watching old Sherlock Holmes movie ( Peter Cushing) today (I like old movies especially black and white) and had paused while made lunch, promptly sat on the remote (I.e,butt dialled) and managed to turn the telly off, although I know the ending I still wanted to see it! Hope you find something to distract you!

Was that the one where Sherlock Holmes solved the mystery? 😉November can be a gloomy month, but let's hope there'll be a few lights in December.

yes but you always want to know how! Roll on December!

very wet here in deepest rural Essex. My area is the driest place on the mainland. Thus very wet is a real change.

My enormous loving black cat is keeping me warm, bless him. Dear litttle chap. Cats have so much warmth..

Excellent for improving my frame of mind.

It has rained and rained in my part of north London. The paths on our dog walk replaced by streams. Ducks swimming on the flood water.

I am all dressed up long water proof coat and wellies.

My black labrador extremely happy as there is even more water to swim and paddle in.

Yup Nixie is a water baby as well, but hates the rain ! go figure

Bottoms up!

That's the pre-launch mode, it then extends to a very un-lady like belly flop !

On the plus sideour reservoirs and aquifers are filling up.

My golf has been called off a number of times due to the ghastly weather and buggies too dangerous on the course. Nipping out to do a bit of gardening between showers but don’t really like compacting the soil too much.

Climate change seems to be changing our gentle English drizzle of former times to cats and dogs/bucketing or drought.

Hi. Pat. It is absolutely bucketing down here in Wales and Forecast for more. I agree, it's horrible!!! :(
