Omeprasole should help with the acid reflux,? Are you also on clopidogrel?

Ah yes, this is a sore point, as it were. If you are inclined to read studies, this is very interesting regarding acid reflux and cardiac chest pain: pmj.bmj.com/content/81/958/515

The key point -- and it echoes what a doctor said to me a few months ago -- is that the esophagus and the heart share a common nerve path: However, the same relation, and in particular the common path of pain fibres from both organs via the sympathetic trunk, leads to one of the commonest dilemmas facing clinical cardiologists—the correct diagnosis of patients with chest pain. Chest pain is a common complaint and cardiac and oesophageal pains are often similar.

If the acid reflux is a new thing i'd def get it checked out by dr as i was diagnosed over the phone with acid reflux 2 weeks before a massive heart attack. Then again it could be due to the meds but better to be safe than sorry? Good luck x

Have been to A and E many times and told acid reflux, they can tell if it heart promlems from blood test. Had ingigestion fot 4 days phoned gp told to take gaviscon, on5 day at 2 am woke up in agony taken to hospital as I was having a heart attack. Had a STEMI heart attack 3 stents 2 months later had restenosus and another stent. Now have heart failure. The neareast hospital is over an hour away from where I live so very lucky to survive. The indigestion I get now is after medication in evening so think it is medication. Just told to stop medication if it is causing problems, so not much help. Have not seen cardioligst since last stent 15 months ago, everything done by phone call. You need to be rich and go private if you need help but I am. not. Thank you for replying.
