Hi there - do you mean ablation? I had this after my AF had become quite bad and ended up in A& E etc. My brother had it too few years before me. I was 55 and he was about the same age. I have to say it took a while to work.. but then I was still working and in a very stressful intense risky role along with a lot of other health stuff so not surprising. It took about 5mths to work I think. I would definitely recommend it - many get relief almost immediately. Any further info, do let me know. I don't like procedures like the rest of us... but so glad I had it... and obviously reduces risk of all the nasties that AF can bring on. All the best, D

Thanks for your reply and glad you found some relief. No it's not the same as an ablation , it's a pacemaker fitted followed by an AV node ablation.

Oops. Sorry Sue! Hope you got some great support from the AF site. All the best with the outcomes of whatever you decide to do. x
