Are you worried about HR, BP or both? And what sort of figures are you getting?

The first med is a blood thinner, the second I suspect Furosemide a diuretic and the later a stomach protector. I don't know the details of your surgery but if it was a bypass I would have expected a statin and Bisoprolol to be in the mix. Bisoprolol, a beta blocker, would reduce both BP and pulse. I am on 1.25mg Bisoprolol and 2.5mg Lisinopril and recent readings were 105/60/55.

Hi, I wonder if you left hospital with the same meds you went in on? When my husband had his AVR he was discharged without his previously prescribed BP meds. His BP went sky high after a few weeks and he was straight back on them. Has a similar thing happened to you?

I’d suggest speaking with your GP or cardiologist to review your symptoms and medication.

All the best to you and your loved ones.

One thing i've learned is: post op meds are like a car engine - they need to be fine tuned to your 'new heart' and will need re-tunes as time goes on. I'm almost 6 months post op and 2 months ppost discharge and i'm still having to check BP, HR and communicate these to cardiologists and my GP so we can assess and modify my meds accordingly.
