Hello wolves03

Welcome to the forum, 4 weeks after surgery is not very long at all. After an open heart op it’s slow and steady. Remember you have had a major op, you have had a huge dose of anesthetiser and your whole body needs to recover. Your lungs took a hit as well as your heart they collapsed when you were on bypass so those breathing exercises you were given in hospital need doing even now you are home.

Dehydration during the night, is this due to having to use the bathroom through the night? Are you on any water tablets? Maybe a word with your cardio nurse or your GP. I am on water tablets and trips to the bathroom can be really over the top😂

Keep going your stamina will come back it’s slow but you will get there, I am 4 years on from Aortic valve replaced and bypass and life is good, I am grateful every day to the medical team that gave me my life back.

Best wishes on your recovery Pauline

Hi wolves03

How much water do you drink during the day?
