Constant pain and fatigue

I'm wondering if anyone can help me I had a heart attack in November 2017 and had 4x stents put in as I was to young for a bypass. I kept having a chest pain for over a year so they decided to do another angiagram in March 2019 where they found a stent had failed and another artery was getting narrow so they put in another 2x stents after a very stressful procedure. Within a couple of days of having the angiagram I was getting pains in my legs and chest feeling nausea and bad headaches. This has been going on for nearly a year now and I've had so many tests still coming back normal. My heart is apparently ok... It's not the medication as all these tests have been done as well. I've been also unable to work and I'm always fatigue and am now depression has set in because of the constant pain in my body. I would just like to know if anyone has suffered with this after a angiagram.

Sorry to hear you are having such problems. You should see your doctor if the cardiologists have ruled out heart issues. I am having bad chest pain and fatigue 4 months after stent placement. Heart and stent are working fine according to cardiologist. He says I may be one of the 0.5% of people who’s body tries to reject the stent. He says it may or may not settle in time. On Plavix and Cartia and Avapro and Esetrol. Hoping when I stop Plavix in 8 months the pain will go away.

I’m a year on from HA and stents, and still suffering chronic pain, which causes fatigue, so I have great sympathy for you.

They are currently exploring microvascular disease for me, which has been mentioned as a possibility since last Easter- one registrar went as far as saying that he “expected it” since I was relatively young (57) and had needed a lot of stent. There was pattern he recognised.

They have already explored and ruled out a neurological cause.

Now trying out various combinations of drugs to control things, while waiting for another round of tests.

The cardiologist has also been very clear that a small number of HA patients experience chronic pain for which they can not (yet) find an explanation.

I’ve taken early retirement from a stressful job, and trying to adjust to a new life style.

Hi hectorsdad

Because of the problems I have been having I've been in an out of A&E a few times and was admitted in August where I was in a lot of pain. They kept me in for 10 days they did another angiagram and found that the heart was ok they also did a pressure test on the stents which made my head feel like it was going to explode... the symptoms have been getting worse I have had so many tests done and the neurologist has ruled out problem on there side I'm waiting for more tests from rheumatologist as they think the stressfull angiagram in March has triggered someting possible fibromyalgia/cfs as this is constant pain. I'm 49 now I had the HA when I was 47 I haven't been able to work since March 2019 which is very stressful as I'm self-employed.
