Just diagnosed with severe MVP with regurgitation and suspected Marfan syndrome. What should I expect???

Where do I start, I completed the London marathon about 6 weeks ago in a decent time and I thought I was fit and healthy. The days following days I started to get a gnawing sensation in my chest, thought it was a stomach ulcer and went to the GP who identified a heart murmur. Skip on two weeks and 2A&E visits I finally got rushed in to see the cardiology team. After an echo and then quick chat with the cardiologist I was diagnosed with severe MVP affecting both leaflets with regurgitation, on top of that he also suspects that I have Marfan syndrome.

I have been put bisoprolol 10mg and rampiril 10mg per day (the side affects are annoying but manageable)

Since being diagnosed I’ve been on holiday and my dedicated cardiology nurse has been for two weeks. I’ve got so many questions but mainly what should I look to expect? My appointment with the cardiologist isn’t for another 6weeks.

Any help or advice is welcome.

Thanks

P.s I’m 31 and have so far had an echo, mri and holter.

Severe Mitral valve prolapse. Depending on the severity of the prolapse you will be faced with a variety of options, which are best spelt out by a cardiologist. If you can't wait 6 weeks, as you have had an echo, dig into your rainy day fund and pay for a private appointment to have a chat regarding your prospects and take it gently (walking rather than running) the meantime. Unfortunately there will be waiting list to contend with.
