I don't expose my skin to uv light as in strong sunlight as I get UV allergy rash also.....looks like a Lupus rash
I probably should have included 'expose skin to certain types of ultraviolet light as in the past sunlight has helped clear my psoriasis. More recently the sun has either failed to help or, possibly, made psoriasis worse. But come summer I'll be venturing out into the sun again to see what happens.
I have warm/ hot shower every morning ,mainly for my arthritis so I don't know if that counts as a warm bath. The Humira injections seem to be helping as my psoriasis gets worse just before the injection is due.
I use a coal tar shampoo on my eyebrows since they seem to have a little bit of psoriasis in them. They sometimes have white skin peeling that can look like dandruff and the shampoo helps a lot. I use Desonide cream (prescription) on any pink areas that pop up on my face. I have rosacea also, but why take a chance? A touch of Desonide gets rid of the pink spots before they grow larger. I have nothing to complain about.
I use bioba shampoo for scalp which can be used on the skin and I use it when it's bad. I am also injecting Etnercept and take Leflunomide for PsA which has a knock on effect with my skin.
I only sit in the shade during the summer months since getting sunburnt badly as a child. I was in the sun the same amount of time as the rest of family yet I'm the only one that got burnt and yes the only person wth Ps!
I have stopped using prescribed oils, creams and ointments.
Cannot take DMARDS or Biologics as they bang down on my immune system
In bathroom we have a hydro room and I use skin softeners and now a standard shower gel with softeners. I only use a low value betnovate for behind my ears and inside my ears.
Have had all this for over twenty five years and the skin was thinning, still have the scars although the skin is recovering.
The arthritis is another story
