Have they said what it involves? Val
Hi Valm, I have been on research on two occassions, each project is different however the COPD ones can involve many tests and questions. But I see it as helping future generations to get possibly better treatment or who knows maybe a cure. Even maybe better diagnosis proceedure. Your Help on research could benefit yourself and others, hope you decide to do it as patients input helps understand the diseases.
Sorry got confused the question was from blackbird, but the answer is the same as above
I have Bronchiectasis and I was asked to be part of research study at the Royal Free hospital - was the best thing I did. I have a mobile number to call every time I am ill and they see me that day and give me all the medication I need. They also arrange any inpatient treatment I need and can have me on IVs so quickly. They are fabulous, best treatment I have ever had.
Good outcomes from research depend on people participating, Blackbird: I'm involved in a number of research programmes and know first-hand how frustrating it can be if the number of people taking part is limited. Please do offer yourself for the study! It may not help you directly, but it will bring help to others later.

Thank you all for your replies - you have all said pretty much along the lines of how I was already thinking -- pleased to say have signed on the dotted line and the new research guinnea pig is willing waiting and ready to go!
