Pressure needs putting onto the government and other departments to do something about air pollution. It came to my attention a week ago that pollution in Europe kills 400,000 a year. That is equivalent to 1,333 aircraft crashes with 300 lost on each flight each and every year. If the deaths were caused by anything but air pollution there would be a national outcry. The latest round of air pollution not only made me ill meaning I had to use my pump more, more o2 also, but also made my chest ache and caused me to having to stay indoors. A&E saw a 14% rise in admissions. I wonder how many deaths were caused by it. Smoking is not acceptable nowadays. Nor is pollution.
Hi derrylynne, thank you for your comment. Sorry to hear you were so affected by the air pollution last week. We hope that the coverage the BLF was able to get last week will, in the least, educate people as to the dangers of air pollution for people with lung conditions and people without. Take care, Teresa
