Oh no forget the gremlins, just remembered that meerkat that crept in my bag ..(well thats the dream i've just ordered up), now that i found the light switch and crawled the dark dark crawl back to bed !! - who remembers the pull cord that used to hang over beds to turn the light on and off, where did they all go !!

Morning all! I have taken the wife to work, been to Asda, had a tidy up and kicked the cat. Now sitting here catching up with last night's blogs and drinking coffee. Have a great day everyone! Bobby xx

Yes psorias, I remember the overhead pull cord light switch. But of course in those days only wealthy people had bedside lamps. Mind you we did have a paraffin heater in our bedroom, it took the chill of the room and made the ceiling black! However, it brought a measure of comfort to two young boys who were arguing over whose turn it was to have the flat end of the stone hot water bottle as against the knob end which you couldn't put your feet on....

Happy Days.....I can still smell the camphorated oil.......

I really love to remember the 'days gone by' but I will never understand why people got rid of that pull cord !!
