Pomegranate

May be useful to someone :

Couldn't understand why I felt unsteady , and the heart fluttering around after eating Pomegranate some weeks ago.( This took a lot of tracking down to arrive at this conclusion as this was eaten over a period of weeks on different days ) From what I have now read Pomegranate can interact with Atovastatin (although its not mentioned on the packs or leaflets) I am aware of grapefruit with certain meds but not Pomegranates. I obviously stopped eating these, and the fluttering stopped.

In may be worth checking your own meds and diet regime just to check the food you are eating is OK with your meds especially if you feel any adverse issues after eating, and if so keep a record of what was eaten and on what day to narrow it down .

Thought I would share this .

Thank you for mentioning cranberries. I was never told not to eat them when I was put on an anticoagulant.

I'd read about cranberries and Warfarin , but on a visit to my son a few years back we had cranberries in something. Later my hands started to turn blue (it was cold but not THAT cold). My son phoned the NHS line (or whatever it is) who were very good and finally put me through to an anticoagulant nurse who told me that you'd have to eat/drink alot of cranberries to have a reaction. My son was more concerned than I was - probably at the thought of me having to stay longer (lol) 😀
