has anyone got constant bladder pain and up at night while taking Apixaban
cystitis : has anyone got constant... - Atrial Fibrillati...
cystitis
I have had more than a few bouts with cytitis but all caused by infection and treated with antibiotics.
I would suggest that you ask your GP for a urine test for blood cells in urine to rule out any possibility of any link between Apixaban and cystitis pain.
thanks for your prompt reply , but when I have had a urine test it always comes back negative . It’s more that some medications do cause bladder irritation and I’m very sensitive to most medications , it’s a nightmare . It’s a case of try it and see . Well I’ve tried this since October and I’m convinced that this medication is a culprit. I just wanted to find out if anyone else found this also . I’m going to try to get help from my doctor which is really difficult and see if it can be swapped for a similar treatment.
Generally speaking Apixaban seems to be the one most tolerated.
It is important to distinguish between problems caused by medication and problems shown up by medication. I would push for further investigation. Also, if you are having runs of AF in your sleep that could contribute, some nights I have to get up once, others several times. I had investigations for similar problems in my forties, conclusion was that the cause was hormonal changes 😕 Diagnosing waterworks problems seems very difficult.
Constant bladder pain needs to be more fully investigated and the only way to get that done is via your GP to discuss anticoagulation alternatives if appropriate, perhaps also with a referral to Urology clinic for further investigation.
I had different problems with apixaban, bladder doesn't emty like before starting apixaban also not a burn, but an unusual feeling when emptying my bladder. I'm on my second day of transitioning back to warfarin. Big pharma does not have our welfare at heart, it's all about money. Good Luck to you!!!
there is a condition called interstitial cystitis that causes pain and bladder pressure that isn’t necessarily caused by a current infection
I suggest you ask your GP for a referral to a urologist
I used to be a Women’s Health physio and occasionally came across this condition in clinic but I always referred it on to a urologist.
Yes, yes and yes again! I have had all sorts of investigations and nothing shows in bladder, kidneys etc. First thought it was UTIs and had several courses of antibiotics to no effect. I changed BP Med Losartan to Candesartan as doctor said there is a link between Losartan and urinary issues, but no change in bladder after 4 months. I keep thinking that apixaban is the issue, just constant bladder pressure and pain, it’s driving me nuts!
