Having an ablation on 4/27 and now my heart seems to be on its best behavior. May not be after I stop taking my meds tomorrow but am worried that it won’t act up during the procedure.

Don't worry...the EP has ways and means !!
Thank you !
Don't worry DH.
It's sounds like you are a prime candidate for an ablation. Heart not playing up at the moment - perfect news. That shows it may work for you.

Oh yes. Please don't worry - you'll be in afib when you have your ablation. Nothing to worry about at all.
I hope it goes well for you - I'm sure it will.
Paul
Edit - you need to be in afib when you have an ablation - your EP will be able to this very safely so please don't worry. Just saying
They have special drugs to make AF happen so no worry there. Just keep reading the two Preparing for and Recovering from fact sheets and do as we suggest in them and you will be fine.
I was quite symptomatic AFIB. Took 3 weeks for Flecainide to control it. I was surprised when EP told me to stop Flecainide 12 days before ablation (my previous ones were around 4 days prior).
I was off Flecainide for nearly two weeks ... and heart was total sinus. No sign of AFIB. Very surprised! However, EP said the heart doesn't need to be in arrhythmia ... they can induce AFIB during procedure.
Good Luck! with yours . . .
I did not stop any meds for the ablation, which were flecainide and diltiazem. They still induced it.
I had my first ablation yesterday. Trust me, if you're not in AF, they certainly know how to instigate the pigging thing........ twice if you're unlucky 😁.
Hope you are ok Ducky. How did it go , did Proff I do it for you?Best wishes x
Hi there. Thank you for checking on me, I have just posted my experience 😁 ("First Ablation Yesterdy" . Doing ok so far, just a bit battered and bruised. After initially being told it would be Dr Yusuf or Professor Osman, I rang the coordinator last Friday who told me it would actually be Dr Dhanjal, but then told Tuesday it was Dr Pannikar. I did look him up and he specialises in AF ablation and trains other Drs and is an honorary consultant at the Royal Brompton, so his CV suggested he was up to the task 🤣. Didn't actually clap eyes on him but he was very attentive and reassuring and kept me informed about was happening all the time. Hopefully, he was successful in his endeavors. Time will now tell. 😊
Hi.My ablation is due on 12 May and currently my heart is behaving itself. I have not considered whether or not it will perform during the procedure, but I imagine the EP has experienced every eventually and so I wouldn't worry too much.
Thank you to everyone for their experiences and reassurance!!! I greatly appreciate it!
