Does anyone go jogging whilst taking beta blockers and cope well. I’m surprised that so many people have AF, I do feel quite chilled on beta

I know of course but it is not something I would ever consider. Since I stopped fell walking when my knees gave out I need two sticks just to walk to the farm shop. Funny actually I said to my son today as I was driving him back from hospital (foreign object in eye) you never see joggers looking happy or smiling.

Go along to a Park Run. It's a real celebration of life.

Hi Electric blue :-) until recently I was doing 'scouts pace' for half an hour a day that I learnt in the Girl Guides about 60 years ago so I walk so many steps then jog the same number and keep alternating which uses different muscles so you don't get so tired.

I say till recently because I have the return of an old problem with my legs and back and can't walk or stand for long at the moment so I am in the process of sorting that out .

I'm on 1.25mg Bisoprolol, 100mg Flecanide twice a day and 20mg Rivaroxaban. I've been jogging at least 5km a day for years @9:30 min/mile now I'm 57. I've only recently started on the Flecanide, and that keeps my heart rate @115 BPM. If I'm in AF I still go, but take it really steady, but heart rate then hovers @160 BPM.

I can't imagine jogging let alone moving when I'm in a full on AF episode!! 😱

I have exercised when in AF and it does regulate the heart but as soon as I stopped it came back.

If you are considering introducing any new exercise regime, it is advisable to discuss this with your doctor or arrhythmia nurse beforehand. You may also find our 'Mindfulness and Health Living ' information booklet helpful heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...

I miss my beta blocker "chill".My wife said it made me a better person.Calm as a cucumber.

On digoxin now and back to my normal restless self

Jogged on both

Digoxin/flecainide killed the tachycardia/af however whereas the metropolol didn't seem to work

In my case vigorous exercise seems to keep heart regular.

Am 67 however and have to be careful that I don't injure myself.

Haven't had a discernible episode of AF for 14 months.

And yeah, whenever I have mentioned my diagnosis every Tom,Dick and Harry seems to have it or knows someone that is dealing with it.

Is that chilled as in cold or chilled out? I get chills even on the beta blocker and yes I feel a little more relaxed, thankfully as I experienced 8 months of thinking I was going crazy prior to them dx me with aFIB. If I hadn’t had a previous heart issue (mitral valve stenosis) and fainted twice I reckon I would never have known and just accepted my previous rare cancer dx was rearing its head as acute anxiety (orthostatic tremor symptoms). That or at one point I suggested they throw me into the looney bin.

Chilled as in relaxed , I’m a stress head normally but I feel good, I hope it lasts.
