Hi all. I take Digoxin and want to take some co codomol for hip pain. Does anyone know if this is okay.

The standard answer, of course, is to speak to your medical team or a pharmacist but I was given co-codamol at the same time I was on Digoxin - so it certainly is possible.

Hi Ethel103, I’m on digoxin. I was prescribed along with a number of other medication. The pharmacist came to see me when I was being discharged. I was told I could take paracetamol or co-codomol but not to take ibuprofen or aspirin.

Once your local pharmacy is open today just give them a quick call. They will be able to advise what pain killers you can take. It may well be if your in quite bit discomfort they can advise of stronger painkillers which GP can prescribe.

You will probably need a laxative as well because of the effect of the co-codamol. I use Laxido.

Hi we were told Paracetamol and co-codomol was fine but no antiflamitary drugs like Ibuprofen Hope this helps but you could check with your pharmacist to be certain for better reassurance .

Hi, I was put on Digoxin twice, but it did nothing for me. I. Now on Verapamil and very comfortable.

I’ve been taking Zapain ( CoCodamol 30/500) now for over 10 year fir hip replacement t pain (both hips) & now I take Digoxin, I asked & my Dr said it’s fine to take both.
