I’m not a doctor but it sounds like an ocular migraine to me. I had several after my ablation and it S a common thing. Usually it is not too serious ( more annoying) but I would suggest you visit an optician to check your eyes over just to reassure

I suggest you post in the Macular Society HU forum. As it happens I have macular degeneration and the answer is yes, but I do suggest you join that forum for support 🦋

I'm just at the stage of having the little black spots before my eyes at times, but was told if I ever get the wavy lines I'm to go back to the eye unit as an emergency. I thought it would then involve an operation. Did you just start with the wavy lines?

What is the treatment you're having?

My mother had age related macular degeneration. I did research it but it is sometime ago now. I would hope (assume) treatment options may have improved since then.

One thing I do remember is sunlight is the worse thing for it. I'm sure you know that but certainly invest in full protection UV glasses. Diet can also help slow the process and vitamin E was recommended.

My husband suffers from dry AMD but I know wavy lines is a definite sign of wet AMD. As said above please contact the Macular Society. They have a free help and advice line which is excellent and they do ring back if you leave a message. Also worth asking them if there is a local support group for you to attend.
