Was just going to post that myself, looks promising for AF doesn't it.
A bit of hope for us on the horizon

3 years ago I was in Atrial Tachycardia for 3 months.
During this period my EP carried out an Adenosine Challenge. The procedure comprises injecting Adenosine whilst being linked up to a 12 lead ECG machine.
The trace that was printed was about 6ft long and gave my EP information identifying my AT and I am pretty sure was used to help with my subsequent and last (fingers crossed) ablation which has been the most effective. You might recall that I said that during that last ablation they used what was then the very latest mapping equipment available.
I was told that the Adenosine temporarily stopped the heart and to expect the most awful feeling of doom.
They were right whilst only lasting for a very short while it was one of the strangest feelings I have ever experienced.

That must have been a very odd experience Pete, think I'll pass on that one. Mind you if it helps, as yours appeared to, it's worth suffering for those few moments. Seems Adenosine is known about already then.

Very interesting article. Thanks for posting
It is sunny here but we have a very dark sky. wondering whether to chance a walk. We have been caught out the last 3 days and got wet either on our walk or in the garden. Going to take this with me when I go into hospital for my ablation a week Tuesday. My EP will probably have read it by then but being young he enjoys discussions.
Thanks Jaja, I will try to remember to ask about this on Monday..
Very positive, thanks for sharing.
Sounds very promising, will that have any impact possibly for sufferers of paroxysmal AF , bearing in mind they may also undergo an ablation, as in my case I wonder.
Adenosine is used as a Chemical Cardioversion for SVT. It stops the heart for about 6 seconds with total AV block.
Had this many times and it's not a good feeling as it is what I would think death feels like when it happens. You feel your heart stopping and the bed opens up and you start falling down. Then as soon as it started its over and you feel great.
