Following an accident where i tripped up and dislocated my left hip, shortly after whilst playing golf almost collapsed with sheer exhaustion. Off to the Doctors who checked my pulse and immediately told me I had an irregular heart beat, or AF. I am under a cardiac Consultant who has already performed two ablations which worked for a couple of days then back to AF. I am now waiting for a third procedure. Tablets certainly help, Apixaban and Bisoprolol on top of my normal
daily tablets. However my heart rate is now in the range 80 to 99 beats per min. Prior to my AF my heart rate was normally 50 to 70 beats per min.
It certainly has taken time to adapt as I normally find my golf game is rather poor towards the end of the 18 holes due to tiredness.
I am 75 and want the most out of whatever time I have left, so am hoping the next procedure will work and return my normal rhythm. This is due late July.
You can easily live with AF under the medication prescribed, but adjusting to it takes some getting used to it.

Good morning, Ablation the second time, wires through the groin and one down the mouth for checking if clots in the heart chamber. My AF stopped for a few days and my heart beat returned to my normal. Two three days later AF started again. My Cardiologist told me this can be quite normal in certain people, and can take three attempts.
