Afib or what..?

Hi, Last year I had a successful AFAblation, with only one setback about three months later, when I went into a twenty four hour Afib session, after which everything settled down again. I have been living in a good calm heartbeat world until the early hours of this morning, I woke up, my chest felt as though it would burst, and on the right hand side of my neck, ( the carotid artery)there was the most awful burning sensation which travelled upwards to the bridge of my nose and behind my eyes. My pulse rate was 99+,usually 60. All this continued for about an hour, then suddenly everything went back to normal. I feel pretty drained, and I have a headache, And am a bit apprehensive of doing normal things for a little while. Has anyone else had this happen, it is the burning sensation that goes with the rapid heartbeat that was really dreadful? I would be really great-full to hear your views Thank you.

I have the most awful weird and wonderful symptoms when my heart goes off on one it's incredibly scary so I know exactly how you feel. May be worth a call to your cardiac medic for advice, assistance and reassurance. Do you have an arrhythmia nurse where you had your ablation who you could call, worth a try if you do. Don't worry yourself get medical advice and any action if needed. Best wishes, rest a while and don't push yourself.

That syndrome sounds really unusual, I agree with meadfoot. You need to seek medical advice.

I recommend you purchase a good, digital blood pressure machine to check your pressure whenever you feel weird. For your Afib, this is now available in the US: KardiaMobile 6L : clinicians.alivecor.com/

Mister_K KardiaMobile6L seems just what I need, I have had a quick look on the website and will dig much further. I do have a BP measure and pulse monitor, which on the night in question, showed things were certainly not what they should be, but I agree something a little more illuminating would be more beneficial.I will also ring my cardiologist on Tuesday to see if he can shine a light on the problem. Added to the scenario I have a leaking Mitral Valve which is just an added hiccup. I do thank you for your advice.
