Oddly enough I had investigation the opposite way around: 7 months after A fib diagnosis I developed a cough which was was tested for athsma , allergies, more serious potential issues, and these investigations and test lasted 15 months. The cough went after 11 months and no cause was found. At my final consultation the specialist doctor said he had no idea what it was and it may have been connected with the AFIB but he did not know how.

For the first time in my life since having AF I have had chest infections but not asthma. Puzzling.

Overuse of Ventolin inhaler can certainly lead to AF.
