Article discussing pros & cons of the new Apple Watch & AF screening - some very pertinent points made
Apart from the dreaded "blood thinners" GRRRRR a well written well thought out article. He obviously already has a Kardia mind. Why have both?
Explained very well. Will watch ( unintended pun) with interest!
Really interesting.
My husband keeps a very close eye on Apple products having bought some shares some time ago. He is also a bit of a technology geek, and told me the latest Apple watch, in addition to detecting AF, can detect (using the inbuilt gyroscope and accelerometer) if the wearer has a fall. The fall detection is automatically switched on if the wearer is over 65 years of age and can be manually activated if the wearer is younger.
If it detects a fall, the watch will ask if the wearer wishes to call emergency services, but if the wearer is immobile for a minute it will call emergency services by itself, see support.apple.com/en-us/HT2....
I think that may not work for us in the U.K. at least yet as we seem to be a little behind the US by a week or two and the link doesn’t find the page.
Sorry, try again, support.apple.com/en-us/HT2...
So is mine but my husband says there is a good market for second-hand iWatches!
