My husband has seen consultant today following his cardioversion. As he has a mechanical heart valve he has been put on to perindopril 2mg to increase to 4mg if no side effects occur.

Anyone else been prescribed this drug?

When I took perindopril a blood test picked up reduction in kidney function and I was advised to stop the drug, which I did. Unfortunately this only stabilised my kidney function which remains slightly impaired. As with all side effects this might not apply to your, but this suggests that it would be wise for you to have your kidney function checked.

I was put on 8mg of this drug about 10 years ago and have had no significant side effects. Just had a kidney test and all came back fine.
