I am due to have ablation in a couple of weeks at Glenfield.
After 15 years of AF some short sessions at 90 bpm and some long for four days sessions at 210 bpm lots of pills, cardioversion and ten years of flecinide which is now not controlling the symptoms any longer they have decided to try this.
My question is how long would I need to take off work, its a mad busy administration role and work would like some idea, before hand on how long I might be off as they will need to find cover. .
Any ideas?

Minimum two weeks but it is very fluid. We all recover at different rates. Go to AF Association website. look up fact sheets under patient resources scroll down to R and there is one titled "Recovering from Ablation". There is also one "Preparing for Ablation . You might find both useful. You do need to listen to your body!
Yes, I agree with Bob. Give yourself at least two weeks off work and if you still don't feel too good even longer. Certainly listen to your body and don't feel guilty about being at home.
Best wishes for a successful ablation and please report back how it all goes.
