Is it ok to take lemsip with AF? I am on Apixaban and Bisoprolol?

Lemsip
Hi Gertsen
Ideally ask your pharmacist, most of the cold remedies contain other drugs, Lemsip contains paracetemol so probably OK, but check with your pharmacist we are not medically qualified.
Be well

Thanks and Merry Christmas
Personally I prefer not too. Just think I am on enough of a cocktail of drugs. So I stick to paracetamol and a toddy of hot water, lemon, honey and maybe a wee dash of whisky.
As HappyJo has stated.....Lemsip contains a decongestant which is a definite no no for AF ers
Most decongestants can affect heart rate so please be careful. They can also affect blood pressure. Sudafed is nasty stuff for arrhythmias. Best stick to paracetamol and discuss with your pharmacist.
I have been told for years absolutely not to take Lep or those type things with AF and being on rivaraxaban, Digoxin and Losartan.
Nor any medication with decongestants or anti histamines .
Asked my pharmacist - he said no! Paracetamol and some honey and lemon in hot water will do the same job. If you are congested, a friend recommends the old 'bowl of hot water and towel over the head' routine! Get better soon x
Was told at my chemist that it's phenylephrine that isn't good, gone to natural remedies where I can (I think that's the decongestant) usually on the label somewhere. Haven't looked any further into stuff like that yet, so that's all I know
I took a Lemslip, landed in Hospital with Af Dr said I could not have taken anything worse xx
When you have AF we are unable to take anything due to tablets we take also not good for AF
Thank you
I don’t take anything other than paracetamol and Wee hot drink. Was really congested last week after a cold and I bought some good old menthol crystals put a couple in boiling water put a towel over my head and by god did that clear my tubes!! Old remedies are the best. 👍
This would explain why I felt much worse after taking lemsip for my cold...2 days in a row.never gave it a thought ..AF was all over the place.
Thanks for the info.
