I used Kardia Alivecor, in conjunction with a smart phone app,

It is a small device you use, with the app, and tells you HR and whether you are in AFib, and other details, you input details via you’re smart phone,

And thereby keep a journal, I found mine absolutely in valuable,

As I’ve now had an AV node ablation, and a pacemaker, which I’m 100% paced on after years of AF and several ablations,In box me if you would want to consider buying it of me, one is brand new, and mine is used obviously, but first do some research about the product, on their website,

I paid over a £100 for mine, so they are not cheap, but defo the best,

Good luck

I believe the smart phone apps aren't reliable for checking afib. ?

I believe she meant the app that goes with the alivcor...

It is very accurate

Kardia, very good as long as you have a device that the software will run on, iPhone, iPad and other makes. Need to check with the Kardia website.

Same as others. Kardia tells you if you are in AF and keeps copies of the"mini ECGs" on your device. You can download these and print them out or email them to your doctors. Cost is around £100 but worth it.

I was told it only e-mails to your doctor one time and doesn’t save your reports unless you pay a $9.99 a month fee.

That is not my experience. Each time you use it, it produces an ecg trace. This can be emailed to anyone and/or printed out.

That is not true. You can access all of your readings in a journal.

You can email yourself the journal or individual ecg's ......

Do you have to take your case off your phone and attach it directly to your phone or will it work thru the case?

No, I leave mine on. It works fine🙋🏻👍🏻

Me too, don’t use it much now but it’s brilliant, it was the way I eventually got diagnosed. Works on iPad and phone.

I have recently purchased the Kardia device also. It has been mentioned before on this blog, also it gets a mention in "The Haywire Heart". I recently mentioned it to my EP specialist, and he said they are a good device. I purchased it via the Kardia App, for £99. It is working well with my iPhone 5. You can upgrade the App for £99 per annum, not sure I need that.

My husband and I both use alive kor. I sent reports to my ep's PA who monitored my heart post ablation. They would have not known how bad the afib was without this device. Well worth $100

I also use Kardia, & in addition rely on an Apple Watch to monitor my HR all day (& night) long. It maintains a record & will alert me if HR gets too high. Not an EKG, but my HR always elevates when I’m in afib, & the Watch detects that. Apple is also working with a research hospital (I forget which one) on algorithms to detect afib with the Watch.

I also have the Kardia by Alivecor. download app to your smart phone and away you go.

Always have it with me and recently used it on mother in law who developed afib while we were out. Sent report off for reading by professional and later used report at doctors who sent it and the Kardia ecg to the consultant. He was very impressed with the quality of both. 🤗
