Hello. ....PIP... sometimes I have afib/fast heart rate soon after I have taken my meds, ( propefenone and bisoprolol). So I can,t very well take a PIP , as that would double up and the instructions say no to that. So do I just wait it out ? As that can be one hour or 30 hours. My fast rate comes first then it changes to afib and back and forth, in and out, etc. Etc. Marney

A PIP is a drug taken only when an attack starts so wouldn't be that which you are already taking. What drug are you referring to as a Pill in the pocket ?

I honestly don,t know, as I only heard of PIP a short time ago, and I thought it was the med I was taking.
I suppose I will try to discuss this with my EP , however he has never mentioned PIP to me.

Propafanone is a rhythm control drug and you are taking it all the time. PIP is only when you take it for attacks and the rest of the time you take nothing. If you are taking propafanone and still having events then either it isn't suitable for you , you need an increased dosage. or you need an ablation.
I take 80 mg Sotalol twice a day and was told that I could take an extra pill when AF started. If I had just taken my regular dose then I was to wait an hour before taking the extra pill.
