I think you might mean just that there are no symptoms - often the case. You need to use CHADs Vasc score (see AFA website) to know stroke risk and whether anti-coagulation is needed

The first time I saw my EP he said " I think that you may be having more episodes of AF than you realize." As I always felt so rotten I was very sceptical about that. Anyway a 7 day monitor was attached and I had to record my observations. It picked up a 36hr run of AF that I knew nothing about. As I sometimes wake with AF I now realize that I don't know what happens whilst I'm asleep.

We all know that AF causes increased urine production (micturition) I now have to get up several times during the night. I don't know if this is old age, AF or has my bladder shrunk?

I found that this improved a lot as a result of taking magnesium - search on here (box at top right of screen) to find out details, including when it is OK to take it, and when not. (And the magnesium may help the AF too!)

Myself have only completly silent aFibs. Only the ecg shows it. I dont feel nothing. If I would not have my personal ECG I could not even detect it.

My guess, that in my case the strong bradicardy is the reason why I dont have symptoms. I was professional waterpolo player, so my resting heart rate is 50-60 bpm. At aFib it goes up to to 65-70. Even at sport activity it remains as low as 120 bpm.

Typically arrives after food and early morning before aweking.

Hi Lynnee

Very common, which is why so many people go undiagnosed, and are at risk of stroke. They reckon around 250,000 in the UK alone

Be well

My friend has visited today to see how I am recovering from my ablation....she has Silent AF discovered this when she collapsed doing a marathon with a HR of over 200. That was 10 years ago and she is managed well on Bisoprolol.

She finds it strange that I feel everything including ectopics.....we couldn't decide which I'd us was in the better position.

I have symptomatic AF and thought I always felt it. But in hospital I was on a 24 hour monitor, couldn't feel a thing and yet there it was on the screen, I was in AF. So I know I can have both.
