I get that a lot, but to be honest I thought it was because I over exert at work...... I can regularly sink 3 litres a shift and not even pee.

Hi jedimasterlincoln, just wanted to ask if you live in Lincoln, and if yes what have you experienced at Lincoln County A & E with your AF?

I'm on metoprolol which I guess is in the same "family" and I get horrendous sweats. I wake up each morning and the pillow is soaked.

In one word YES. I'm on Bisoprolol, Flecainide, Ramipril and the water tablet whose name I can't pronounce, bendro something or other, and I sweat terribly. It runs down my face , drips off my eyelashes and nose, my hair gets wet through and I have rivulets of sweat in places that I'm not going to mention on here!!

Only yesterday, I went for a meal on a river cruise and spent the whole time trying to cool down and mopping myself. For a lady who has been through the dreaded M, it's now an unwelcome return but even worse!!

And every morning after my shower as I start to get dressed, it starts and by the time I'm dressed, I need another shower. It's not much fun is it.

I've always loved going abroad and laying out in the sun all day, but now, just 30 mins in the garden in the sun and I have to move into the shade.

So a definite yes to your question Chancewind!!

Hi, I am just the same, I thought it was just the intense heat we have ( I live in Spain ) but it was never as bad before, I did not realise it was a side effect! of bisoprol!

Yep, me too, looks like bisoprolol is the cause - only just started taking it in combination with other meds (levothyroxine, amiodarone & furosemide) and have exactly same fluid loss issues as you, but only since bisoprolol was added to the mix.

I wouldn't say sweating more than peeing, but my skin is greasy, and my hair gets greasy within 12 hours of washing. Some days the water tablets have me dashing, other days I go hours without going. fed up. with big fat legs, having had long skinny legs all my life. too ashamed to wear shorts or short trousers.!!!!!!!!! fed up with being constantly breathless. see cardiologist today.

Me to, think it's Bisoprolol that causes it, my sweating is so bad at night that we have had to buy new mattresses for the bed.

Yes, Bisoprolol is the likely culprit! Amongst other side effects, I too had a return of the dreaded night sweats- which I had only just got rid of after the menopause. So bad I had to stop taking it. I decided I could cope with more/more severe AF episodes better than I could cope with Bisoprolol.

Me too I'm on Bisoprolol as well damp hair, forehead after housework or shopping, plus seeing someone say about big legs - I already have big legs but they are bigger so fed up with it all.

Having been lucky in that I never used to sweat, I now sweat at the least assertion. I too feel that bisoprolol is the problem especially since I take a high dosage which the doctor refuses to reduce. I've also noted that I have big legs whereas the rest of my body is very slim - I hadn't thought much of that until reading others experience.

Only just seen this post. It may not be the bisoprolol but maybe the AF itself. Well before I started on bisoprolol a year ago I used to get bad sweats and get it running off me even when doing exertion that was not too strenuous. I read somewhere sometime last autumn that one of the symptoms of AF is easily sweating. If only I had known that a few years ago .....!!!!

I too get quite bad night sweats and can only think it's the Bisoprolol..I'm just fed up with the whole AF thing and going to come off the Bisoprolol immediately I cannot get anywhere with my GP after waiting two weeks for an appointment I can't get a referral to see an EP I am just fed up with the whole thing dealing with so called experts who seem more interested in budgets than patient welfare.....

Steve. Push to get that referral. You are entitled to see specialist. Contact AFA if you need arguments.

Thank you Peter I will continue to try and get to see an EP even if I have to go private but it's just being bloody minded as to why should I have to pay when my GP could and should refer me...

Why not go private if you can afford it? That way you will probably save 3 months and you'll get a longer consultation.

Just read these posts as sweating has reared its ugly headin the past six months and is getting worse. My problem is that I have not changed my medicines and have been taking bisoprolol for the past two years as well as digoxin amongst others. My doctor has prescribed HRT as he was sure that it was a lack of oestrogen but it has not worked so far. I should say that I was on HRT for about thirty five years before being in hospital two years ago I found it very helpful with no side effects.

Has anyone here found any cure over the last few years ? I would be very grateful if you could post about it if you have. Be well Terjo
