We all share the dreaded AF syndrome.... - Atrial Fibrillati...
We all share the dreaded AF syndrome. can we have all the different ways that each of us deal with it? I pesonally drink a FROZEN diet coke!
Hi Frank!
That is interesting, because I've heard some people say very cold drinks send them into AF - it just goes to show what a mongrel condition it really is! I try meditation and deep breathing to keep my heart rate down, though I can't say much really helps. And I take Co Q10, which I really believe has helped with my recovery times.

Hi Frank, sounds really great, I have many methods such as deep breathing and blowing into a tube (which is a syringe) without the needle in it, got it from ambulance drivers. I put ice on the back of my neck, which is kind of soothing too. It makes sense as coke makes you burp, and this condition makes you want to burp but can't sometimes. Don't think I'll try though.
Great replies all. I just feel we should be armed with every alternative in emergencies...Knowledge is power! The syringe is great too i have one i believe it puts the sinus rhythm back.
Mine is exercise induced, (I'm a runner) so sometimes I find if I do a few short sprints followed by a walk, that settles it - but being the mongrel condition it is, as Lis so perfectly puts it, sometimes this doesn't work at all. I've tried every supplement known to man and none of them helped me - but I keep trying anyway!
I am willing to try anything (within reason). Just back from Lidl armed with 6 cans of diet coke. Thank you.
I've cut out drink, smoking and 90% of processed food. I switched to a 75% vegetarian diet giving up cheese and cream cakes (which I love). I have acupuncture once a week to help and take some supplements.
Does it all work?
Not sure, I can kid myself it does but if I look back a year ago when I first came on here I certainly do feel better.
Episodes are more bearable, shorter and less ferocious. Can't ask for more really except full cessation.
i too have abstained from the drink cigarettes and feel a lot more settled for it.
