A 24 hr monitor would be no good for me as I feel perfectly well some days. I recently had 3 good weeks and then a run of AF attacks. Fortunately this coincided with a 7 day monitor which my EP had asked my local hospital to arrange. It worked all the time - I didn't have to do anything. It was called a 7 day loop monitor. I had twice had monitors fitted that I had to trigger if I felt any symptoms. My EP thinks that my heart fibrillates more than I realise so an all night monitor would pick up what happens when I'm asleep. I am getting the results on Thursday so I will report the findings then.
