Hi Candy, don't worry. That is the first thing as it only makes you more worried. The question of drugs is very much up to the EP and whilst some prefer you to stay on them others want you off them for the procedure and probably after that. My own EP kept me on the drugs for some time afterwards which the first time made me rather disappointed as I expected to be cured. Oh the innocence of a first time ablatee. Things have moved on a bit over the last six years mind you. Be assured that it isn't a question of the drugs hampering the ablation it is very much a personal choice of the EP I think.
Thank you for the reply I feel bit better now as was concerned the drugs may give a different reading if you like to the normal heartbeat I have to trust them I guess! I feel like crap at the moment as the drugs wiping me out please god the ablation works also worried whether I can do without them though after as I depend on them for fear of further attacks any advice appreciated.
I asked this very question to my cardiologists assistant yesterday and yes it doesn't matter if you have beta blockers etc in your system. My ablation is next Wednesday and I have been told to take them as normal until I go in on Tuesday afternoon.
