Welcome. May we assume the lovely cat does not have prostate cancer? Ha. Ha.

It's perfectly OK to lurk around for a while until you might want to Post something of your own details or to make Replies to other Posts.

(Your handle "Muffin2019" reminded me of a personal story of mine. My spouse of many years developed a habit of sometimes playfully calling me her "stud muffin". One day after I had been on Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) for a few years, she called me that, and I casually said to her, "Just call me 'muffin' now, Dear." There was a little pause, and then we both had a good little hug and laugh about it.)

Wow, how can anyone have a psa that high, mine was only 156 when they started the lupron and chemo, was .6 but took a jump to 1.8, only change was the herb called olive leaf extract for blood pressure but it has a compound that raises the male hormone, had no idea so I stopped it right awsy, hopefully that is what caused it. Having my scans in june for the 1 year anniversary so we will see what happens, have no symptoms like a year ago, still getting hot flashes 5 times more a day.

my starting psa of 1400 ( actually had jumped to around 1600 by the time I started the ADT ) seems high and was a record high for my onc doc but there are numerous people on here that have had psa 2000 - 5000 and I've read about others on the 9000 - 10,000 range. it's all relative. my onc doc and GP both said that oftentimes the people with the highest psa have the best responses to the medications. in my case that certainly was true. a high psa means you have a larger met load as I understand it. pretty grim look on my GP's face when he told me tho yahaya ahay ahaya ah ... seriously. I see him and crack jokes and he looks at me like I'm nuts !!! yahay a ahaya ya he needs a chill pill, no one needs all that professional debbie downer crap. I'm on lupron - xtandi and included in the truckload of side effects is the hot flashes. they come and go minute to minute. I can be streaming with sweat down my face one minute and have shaking chills a minute later. happens quite frequently , so much so I hardly notice it anymore ... I just carry a hanky and keep on keeping on. here's hoping your 1 year checkup comes out great and you have those little scum suckers in check. hang in there , you got this. so much good stuff is in the pipeline we all have good reason to be optimistic for an extended life. for guys like us just the fact we are here having this discussion is great to begin with. best wishes.

Hello Muffin2019

When is it very bad luck to see a black cat?

When you're a mouse.....

Today we learned that cat's paw is good for Tinnitus... So you've got four doses living with you right now....

So when you have the time post all your info here and ask questions.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Thank you, psa went from .6 to 1.8, been on lupron for a year. Took a herb olive leaf extract that has a compound that raises the male hormone, had no idea so I stopped it. Sent a note to ocologist but never responded. Due for my yearly scan before another psa check, hopefully it will drop back to where it was . Just had the shot last week, many hot flashes each day but I am alive so what the heck.

Welcome to the group, fellow cat lover.

My PSA has never been higher than 4.2, yet I have been through the wringer. We are all different here, yet we can all help each other.

Best wishes!
