Hi, 22Dreems~

Welcome to the group!

One of our members actually recommended a very good way to help study with an accountable partner. Others have tried it and say it works great.

It's called FocusMate and pairs you to work with someone while they're also working on something.

Hope this helps you.

Best regards~

When I was in preparing for my comprehensive exams in grad school before they discovered fire, I was going through a horrible divorce. I was brain dead but I was in a committed "study group" where each of us were responsible for leading a review session for the group (while we all brought food, desserts, etc.) and it basically got me thru the whole thing. Everyone in our group finished "with distinction." I don't even know what I did through it because I was so wacked out from my separation and divorce.

In summary, and to echo GatsbyCat, find one or more people who are responsible, committed, friendly, and work with them.

What a great idea GatsbyCat!

I've never heard of FocusMate, but I just signed up, too :)

Has anybody ever heard of or tried 'body doubling'? It's like having a friend there with you while you complete some of those tasks/responsibilities that some of us with ADHD find a really big challenge. Here is a short video titled, Body Doubling ADHD |Motivation to Make Your Bed: youtu.be/Jd2NJDr0Vi8.

I realize it's not related to studying, but I thought it might be interesting.

Hey you, I remember those days. 1985. No ADHD no drugs but anxiety, depression, no concept of those either. Procrastination, confusion why it was all soooo hard ... I knew it would be tough with Medicine but it was worse.I got bored quickly, couldn't focus, got overwhelmed easily, couldn't for the life of me recall those hundreds of muscles, each coming with it's very own beautiful bunch of Latin for insertion, attachment, innervation, function all to be learned by heart and chop chop.

I still have nightmares.

Now if you don't have ADHD you find a buddy to study with or 2. More? mmmh. Never tried more than 4 and that was the limit. But definitely two or three others.

If you think you have ADHD or don't feel well mentally in any other way or if you just aren't sure, better see a Dr asap. Plus the above.

Hi there 22Dreems,

In the event you can't find any conducive study groups (or would prefer other types of tips) and in the event you aren't familiar, I wanted to suggest practicing the art of mind mapping. I can only imagine being a medical student and struggling with ADHD!!! (I once was a PhD student struggling with ADHD) and I found that creating a mind map in the most basic, elementary way *really* worked for me.

Plus, using a mind map was a great way for me to re-engage quickly, in the event I got disrupted. I have several e-books on all sorts of stuff and one that I thought might behoove you is titled, The Ultimate Book of Mind Maps by Tony Buzan. I wanted to just send you a copy, but I can't figure out how to send an attachment(?).
