Galloping towards the end of the Magic Plan- week 6 done!
Hi Runners, I hope you’ve all had a good week! We have absolutely smashed week 6 of the magic plan (timed version), completing our first 55mins run this morning and guess what, we smashed 7KM!! 😱💥👊🏼 I have been running in my light up Xmas bobble hat, and listening to my cheesy Christmas playlist

Menopause and Endo
Hi, since having a Caesarean section 24 years ago, I have suffered from painful adhesions. I had 2 laparoscopies in that time, and on both occasions no Endo was found. 4 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer, had a mastectomy and reconstruction, which meant more surgery on my stomach, more scarring

Doctors say I have PD?
Maybe they're right. I've been seen by 5 or 6 doctors who all agree I have PD. Two say it's probably PD and MS. Last night while moving the scooter into the garage it fell over with my foot trapped between the kickstand and floor. My wife is an hour away so not available to help. It fell as

I am Home!
After 6 long weeks and some dark days I am at last home and sleeping in my own bed. Having some community physio for a while but hopefully that won’t be long. Being assessed for home oxygen so see how that goes. Onwards and upwards from here on in and can go at my own pace. The kitties were really

Long awaited appointment cancelled
My physio told me he was referring me back to my haematology department (as they seem to be in charge of my care) because (he says) my compression fractures are due to the blood cancer. I have been in pain for five months and now will have to wait another month due to my appointment on 9th being cancelled

Is RLS affected by back/neck issues
I was wondering if spinal problems can cause or contribute to RLS. I've had lower back issues for years, but recently I've also been having a lot of shoulder and neck problems too. I've been to see a physio, I've changed my pillow and have been making an effort to sit supported properly in a chair.

Advice on accessing NHS help after private diagnosis
Hi, I have just received my diagnosis of Hypermobile EDS with Marfanoid phenotype via a private consultation with Dr Mittal. I had previously been diagnosed by an NHS Rheumatologist with Joint Hypermobility 3 years ago but the Rheumy point blank refused to consider EDS as I "wasn't in a wheelchair",

Is there anyone who has undergone chiropractic treatment for back pain?
Even though we took her for
physiotherapy
treatment, there was no improvement. When we did an online search to find an alternate solution, we found this chiropractic centre that does chiropractic treatment https://www.oakvillechiropractic.com/chiropractic-centre-burlington .

Good physio trip
Saw my physio this morning and, as ever, she put her finger on the problem(literally) in a flash. Tissue on the outside of my calf has been having to work extra hard to maintain stability because of the claggy state of the trails I run(with hills thrown in), and has ended up being a bit knotted! Slightly

Weekend walk..
Hi there Hope you all had a good walk/week🙂 Wasn't able to go for walk this weekend. Having problems with my back. Physio wants me to walk every day but pain is getting worse despite the exercises, I'm thinking it might have something to do with the fog and colder weather this week as the pain wasn't

Bone Mets
Exactly a year to the day of my initial diagnosis of metastatic cancer, imaging found extensive bone mets in my femur and hip. It is the osteoblastic type. I'm set up for physical therapy to work with the soft tissue on my leg due to the pain and also radiation. Scheduled a PET scan to see if there

How essential is physical therapy after AVR?
I had AVR on November 3rd and am scheduled for my first appointment with a physical therapist next Tuesday. But now the coronavirus cases are skyrocketing again and that will be 5 days after Thanksgiving. So, at a time when a lot of people might be asymptomatic spreaders of the virus. I'm seriously

Cbt for pelvic pain/vaginismus
Hello everyone. Has anyone ever had any talking therapy/counselling for vaginismus or pelvic pain? It was recommended to me by my physio but I'm unsure of what to expect. Did it help anyone?

Ok; so I hadn’t fixed my calf/achilles problem!!
I postponed my long run until today as I was still “feeling” my left calf a bit yesterday. 2 dog walks later, plus exercises, all felt fine by lunch time today, so off I went! The fact that I managed 12.25k out of a planned 15k shows that it didn’t hurt too much, but it hurt enough! I just decided “what

5 weeks into recovery and all is well!
A while since I posted on here but I’m now 5 weeks into recovery and yesterday managed just over 7k in an hour included 93m elevation gain, still doing intervals of run/walk but the runs getting longer and walks shorter. Hip is good, slight ache after longer sessions but I’m reassured by physio that
