Catabolic Wasting, Cachexia and Sarcopenia - Life Extension Foundation, Section Update: 03/2021
As most men with PCa are oldER and may be on some form of testosterone-blocking treatment, like ADT, odds are they are also struggling with the muscle-wasting and weight issues that comes with both oldER age and loss of T. This article from LEF is a very comprehensive overview of both Cachexia and Sarcopenia

Maddening Contradictory Advice
Latest update on my still hormone sensitive lymph nodes-only but widespread metastatic cancer is the Dexa scan showing I now have Osteopenia (no doubt occasioned by ADT regimen and lack of Testosterone). Iāve been told I need to get 1500 mg absorbable Calcium per day to prevent further lumbar region

Relapsed CLL: New Approaches Prolong Survival
Dr Furman says that genetically unstable CLL patients need a combination therapy approach to treatment irrespective of MRD assessment results. This is only a short read and Dr Furman's opinion is always worth taking note of. In case itās behind a paywall, here is the article in full. Credit to

Hydrocortisone versus Prednisone
My wife was diagnosed with addison's disease, she started using predsinose up to 7.5mg daily and 0. 2mg of fludrocortisone, after starting the treatment she had a slight improvement, she came out of the crisis she had when she was diagnosed with the disease, but to have a slow pace of life, she did not

ADT and Tendon Pain
Now in my 3rd year of ADT (Eligard), which has also included 2 years of Abi + Prednisone. I had issues with my tendons for years before my PC, but the problem has worsened steadily with the PC drugs. I now have tendonitis in both feet, both achilles, a hip, wrist, elbow and shoulder. We're encouraged

HRT options
Hello All, I had the Mirena coil (IUD) since starting menopause and was taking oral oestrogen HRT in addition for the hot flushes (nearly 10 years now). I was on Elleste solo 1mg, which I only took every 3-4 days, as I found this dose was okay for controlling the flushes, if I took more my breasts

Update post follow up PSMA PET/CT
Just updated my profile to include recent events. In brief, in March 2023 I had a PSMA PET/CT which Dr. Kwon at Mayo clinic somehow got my insurance to pay for even though my PSA was undetectable. It defined a abdominal retro-aortic mass that was significantly avid. Underwent 4 weeks of standard

Geranylgeraniol (GG), Tocotrienols, Ubiquinol (CoQ10), & statins and their relationship w/ lipids, heart health and APC patient treatments.
It's always difficult to present complex topics on this website, which involve anything more than one drug, treatment, or supplement and there relationship/affect on APC outcomes. It's obvious that it's easier to show a double-blind study of only one treatment/drug etc. and not mix several treatments

Low blood pressure from ADT? After almost 2 years on Orgovyx my blood pressure continues to drop.
Iāve seen reports here where most men on ADT have rises in blood pressure. Mine continues to drop dramatically while exercising and sometimes just walking around the house. But normal blood pressure is 112/80 with a resting rate of 52 and O2 levels at 95 to 97.

After Zofigo, what next?
Posting an update. My husband just finished 6 sessions of Zofigo (Ra223), which his doctor (MO) recommended after he failed Lupron in 12/21, and then Xtandi in 11/22. He weathered it great, with only mild digestive issues and he continues to be asymptomatic. He meets with his oncologist in two weeks

Micronized Progesterone - Does it do anything?
I started taking HRT a while ago and I felt was all over the place, sometimes on top of the world. sometimes awful - it took me a lot longer than it ought to have done to figure out that in the 2 weeks that I take Oestrogen only I'm amazing, and when I take Utrogestan with Oestrogen I can barely function

Surprising Test results
I've just had my thyroid retested at the doctors' and was very surprised at the results. TSH 0.01 (0.38-5.33), FT4 14.8 ( 7.9-14.4) FT3 5.0 (3.8-6.0). In March I did a finger prick test with Monitor My Health TSH 0.01 (0.27-4.2) FT4 21.2 (12-22), FT3 6.1 (3.1-6.8) I had mistakenly not taken my 5pm
