BP Monitors and AF
My heart surgery was not able to resolve my AF, the surgeon ran out of time (11 hours i was 'under the knife'). Since discharge from hospital they are trying to get my medication right to resolve instances of dizziness and lightheadedness - as part of this process i have to record my BP using our Braun

A thought for our loved ones.
My triple bypass heart surgery was recently cancelled at the last minute. Although disappointed I was OK about it. My wife however was very upset by the cancellation. She had built herself up for me to have the operation so emotionally it was a big come down. It got me thinking. When facing major surgery

SVT AVNRT ablation
A month ago my EP added me to the list for an electro study and ablation with a 3-4 month waiting list and at the time I asked if there were any cancellations to consider me. A week ago I was offered an ablation for this monday (2 days ago) and I took it. Now at home recovering. AVNRT successfully ablated

Chest Pain
Hi, my mum has recently been admitted to hospital with chest pain and shortness of breath, they thought she may be having a heart attack but having further test her arteries are all clear and they have put it down to either stress or her fibromyalgia saying this can cause chest pain, is this a common

Pain threshold?
Am I being a wimp & just need to man up? I really don’t know how I’m meant to feel or if the level of aches & pain I’m experiencing is ‘normal’ or as expected - can anyone tell me how they feel and deal with this ? I’m struggling in the mornings with stiff legs, lower back pain getting out of bed. Then

Scientists discover how COVID-19 virus causes multiple organ failure in mice.
UCLA researchers are the first to create a version of COVID-19 in mice that shows how the disease damages organs other than the lungs. Using their model, the scientists discovered that the SARS-CoV-2 virus can shut down energy production in cells of the heart, kidneys, spleen and other organs. "This

Delayed heart surgery trauma?
Hello, I'm new here! I had open heart surgery at 10 years old (I'm now 21) and had my sternum wires removed 3 years ago. Recently I have been having really bad health anxiety - worrying about my general health and death/dying. I cannot comprehend the fact that I ever had heart surgery and the thought

O
I have had many occipital nerve blocks. I will randomly get migraines that last for about 6 weeks about twice a year. I go in to my neurologists office daily and get the occipital nerve blocks. He even meets me there on weekends. If I didn't get the nerve blocks I don't honestly know how I would survive

Yes I will have the vaccination
Re Vaccination If I had seen the video of a heart bypass before my op I honestly doubt if I could have got through . I therefore preferred to put my head in the sand and let them get on with it. It will be the same with this vaccination. I would rather that than dying slowly of something I knew I could

Hello - I have CRPS in my left foot since the first of October 2020. I have had two Sensitivity nerve blocks and neither one made the slightest amount of difference. Not I have been out on Morphine with hydrocodone. The last thing I want to do is continue taking these pills. Anyone one else have CRPS

I am pacemaker dependant having had an av node ablation. Having given up all alcohol, which I used to really enjoy I have very infrequent episodes of AF. I have replaced my Gin and Tonic with a non alcoholic spirit and sugar free tonic. However, I have just heard that I should not be having tonic

Open heart surgery
Hi, I had surgery on the 11 of this month to repair my mitral valve, fix small hole in the heart and do ablation at the same time. Op went well but here we are nearly 3 weeks later and I still have pain , especially in my left side, with taking painkillers it wakes me up after about 5 hours sleep.

Newly diagnosed with cardiomyopathy
Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy last week and am pretty shocked and disappointed as I had open heart surgery (aniloplasty) to repair my mitral valve in June 2018 and my cardiologist has always said I was doing very well at my regular checkups since then. Last week's FEVI was 41%

Heart rate problem.
Hi folks, had heart surgery 14 months ago. Mitral valve repair. Felt great for 9 months then ectopics, 22%. Lasted about 2 months then gradually faded away to almost nil. So that's great, except that now occasionally when I lie down in bed to sleep my heart rate suddenly ups a gear to around 100 per
