ATRIAL FIBRILLATION & PMR
After a long, uncomfortable night in the assessment dept of my local hospital I've been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, essentially an irregular heart rhythm which can be very very fast. Felt sick and faint out on a walk earlier, and didn’t get better as time went on. Consultant thinks it may be

What happens next please?
Advice sought from those further on the path please. I had a successful cardio version in July after 6.5 months of high rate permanent AF not well controlled by digoxin, bisoprolol, furosemide, and apixaban. I was told to just stop the digoxin after the cardio version which left me on 10mg of bisoprolol

A vagal manoeuvre to try…
Hello All, I wanted to share with you something that worked for me a couple of weeks ago for my paroxysmal Afib. We had friends over and I took a risk, of not only a very spicy Indian takeaway meal, but it arrived very late and I went to bed just over two hours after eating it 😳 so a double risky combination

Calquence and mouth issues?
I’m wondering if anyone taking Calquence has experienced white patches in their mouth? My dentist noticed I have one on my tongue side of gums. It doesn’t hurt and can’t be scraped off (fits the description of leukoplakia when I Google). My dentist thought it looked like trauma and said to call if it

OVM-200 Phase 1 clinical trial ( vaccine)
I thought I would start a new thread as the original was about the decision making but now I’m in it I realise a clean thread may help. So today is day 15 of the trial and I am getting the second dose of the vaccine ( subject to clearing the screening this morning). I will then be observed for 4 hours

Lecanemab, The Big Alzheimer's Breakthrough?

Any new treatments, people who have tried a clinical trial?
Has anyone on here ever done any clinical trial? There have been a lot of things that have come up, but has anyone tried any of them??? I know that they are not our for the public, but things like PS128 and other trials. Has anyone been part of a clinical trial?

Clarification needed regarding the abbreviation "PAF"
I don't follow the postings here very often, so my apologies if my question is redundant or one I ought to know the answer to. I was just reading a post where there was a question about the use of anti-coagulants. The poster and several respondents used the abbreviation "PAF." My first thought was

Do you know the symptoms associated with a heart rhythm disorder? 🤔
Could your heart rhythm problem be dangerous... ✅ Do you experience breathlessness or shortness of breath? ✅ Do you feel chest pain\discomfort? ✅ Do you often suffer from light-headedness? ✅ Do you have a rapid or irregular heart rate? ✅ Do you experience fainting? ✅ Do you experience fatigue?

Reformer and Rebounding
I have done reformer Pilates for 14 years but after my parathyroidectomy and partial thyroidectomy I lost most of the strength I’d built up and had a lot of joint pain. I was miserable and angry but it was either carry on or give up completely so I’m still plodding away, still angry some days but it

how to exercise with AFib?
I am new with AFib, just a week into it, 61 years old. I am very anxious now about this, as I am breathless even on an easy walk. I am taking bisoprolol after I ended up in hospital with a Heart rate that wouldn’t come down until they gave me this medication. I have until this point always been super

Are Anticoagulants necessary?
I was diagnosed with PAF over two years ago following two episodes of fast AF which lasted for less than six hours. I was given IV Metoprolol in A&E and discharged on Bisoprolol 1.25mg daily. I have been well and active since but my cardiologist is keen for me to take anticoagulants as my CHADsVASc

RECOVERY FROM PULSED FIELD CATHETER ABLATION – ANYONE HAD ONE YET?
Some of you may have seen my recent update post relating to my decision to have a catheter ablation to try and sort out my early persistent AF (which was tolerable in terms of symptoms at the time). The decision was swayed for an active/invasive intervention when I was offered a relatively new procedure
