Daily Laughter Wednesday May I first thank you all for responding to my call yesterday. I thought that I was wearing the wrong aftershave and everybody was staying clear of me, but as usual the friends on this site put me at ease. Thank you so much, every now and again I loose the plot. xxxx The

I have been so depressed lately and have had a couple of meltdowns (one at Walmart and one with my Neuro). I decided the most important thing I can do for my emotional well being, in addition to Paxil, is to quit thinking about "what was". I came across this poster and thought it very fitting so I printed

Does anyone else have this condition or have any tips on controlling it? It first appeared on me about 5 years ago, and since then, every summer it flares up. The doctor gave me an antifungal shampoo to use on it but nothing I've tried seems to clear it up. I've tried Selsun shampoo and various other

Ayurveda - Kanchanar Guggulu
There was an article in the Daily Mail "Herbs, hypnotism, Indian Massage", last Tuesday, 30th July, about a private GP practising traditional Indian medicine. He mentioned an Ayurvedic herb, Kanchanar Guggulu, and I quote: "which enables the thyroid gland to function normally again in patients with

Accidents do happen
Hi All, Thursday 25 July started off really well. Up early, put on my best togs and excited as it was my youngest sons Graduation Ceremony. I drove and picked up his lovely girlfriend on route to Surrey Uni. The actual ceremony took place in the Cathedral and it so beautiful. Afterwards we had Champagne

I am back, and with a new tattoo!
It's been awhile since I have blogged here, though I have been popping by every couple of days to try and keep up with the news as it were. So why haven't I blogged? Well to be honest been a bit down and anxious, after a visit to the Royal Brompton that went terribly wrong, which left me having my

AF and pacemaker change of mode
I had an ablation 17 months ago which worked very well. In March of this year I had a breathing problem which resulted in a course of steriods. My GP thought that my pacemaker which was paced at 60 could be partly responsible for the breathing difficulty (I thought I had a chest infection) and wrote

Does anyone suffer from.....
the "dragged through a hedge backwards look" hair style????? My hair has gotten terribly thin and I find it really hard to style (apart from the above style.lol) but I have found a product that has brought the bounce back. Its not cheap but to have hair that looks good again is worth it so thought

Anyone got a good alternative to Amitriptyline?
I am heading for 19 stone and this is ridiculous. I need the Amitriptyline for the sleep aid and desensitising of my skin. On Lyrica and Tegretol too.

How do I meet other mums to be?
Hello everyone, my partner and I joined the NCT early on in the pregnancy as friends of ours had told us what a great network of new friends they had found due to having joined the NCT. However, I'm not sure where and how I'd meet other mums to be! Two sets of friends told us that when they joined

Are there any known issues regarding the use of a general anaesthesia and levothyroxine? I am due an operation where a general anaesthesia will be administered. It is not a thyroid related operation. I am currently using 175mcg Levothyroxine daily. Are there any issues that I should discuss with

Query regarding taking Warfarin and Aspirin on a daily basis.
My pharmacist & my doctor have started me on 5 mg Warfarin daily but have said I will continue with my Aspirin 75mg daily for the time being until I am in my therapeutic range. My INR at the moment is 1.2 with an eventual target of 2 - 3 from which an expected first ablation will be done. The aspirin
