Ophthalmologist Visit
I just wanted to report on the exam by the ophthalmologist today. He said everything looks good. Optic nerve looks fine. He agreed (with all of you!) that my visual disturbances are caused by the steroids. He recommended I talk to my optometrist about prism lenses that will help to correct the double

Affect of tummy upsets on anti-coagulants,
I was wondering what effect it has on the absorption of anti-coagulants, should something cause you to have diarrhoea - how long does it take after ingestion does it take something like an Eliquis tablet to become effective ?

I was first diagnosed Stage3 in Aug. 2014, ER+PR+Her2-. Found metastases in bones and lymph nodes in Dec. 2023, bioposied one node, same biomarkers. I was put on Tamoxifen which shrank many lesions, except for one. After that, I went through Tamoxifen, Letrozole + Kisqali, Faslodex + Kisqali, have scan

Atelectasis?
I have seen several people refer to this here, but didn't know what it was. My PET/CT scan on Friday showed some mildly alarming things -- bone met in spine is shrinking, but a bunch of subcentimeter but metabolically active lymph nodes around the lungs (hila, paratrachea, mediastinal-pleural). Not

Regular care
I was diagnosed with AF around four years ago now, by a cardiologist in a major teaching hospital. I was put on anticoagulants and referred back to my GP. The local surgery check my meds yearly and I have an annual blood test, but that’s it. I am wondering whether I should ask to be referred back to

High risk vs. aggressive cancer
I understand the definition of high-risk prostate cancer (Gleason, PSA and/or spread), but that doesn't necessarily seem to be the same thing as aggressive cancer. How can aggressiveness be determined for high risk, localized cancer? Thanks for any insight and information.

Blood pressure medication
Can anyone advise the best blood pressure medication that doesn't make breathlessness and dry cough worse. Also doesn't make your ankles swell.Really appreciate any recommendations as I am not sure the gp has the time to go into the different types. Have tried ramipri and amlodipine. Thank you

my hubbie has just had brachytherapy for stage 3 prostate and has been in great pain since Thursday. He’s been told it’s normal and to suck it up but he’s not sleeping and is struggling to wee without great pain (tears) . Any advice as to what has worked for you to manage post op brachytherapy please

Anyone? 😁
LOL I’m popping on here, again, for your honest opinion and advice. I have been OFF all forms of treatment since the beginning of January (when I was told there was evidence that Ibrance and Anastrazole were failing). A brief stint with Xeloda (for 6 days...6 days of pure torture)…and to tell you

GCA Eyesight Anxiety
Hello, I am feeling quite anxious now, because my long-distance sight seems worse today. I am definitely seeing double (at a distance) and cannot focus (distance only.) Up close is clear. (I do have myopia, and have never had any problem with close work, unlike most people my age, which is 65.) I was
