Suppression of TSH but low T4/T3 levels whilst taking Levo/Lio Combo
A few years ago, my thyroid results were looking a lot better but NHS GP over the last 2 years has told me to reduce my dosage twice (because of the 'risks' of overtreatment). I'm now on 100mcg levothyroxine (75mcg supplied by GP and topped up by myself) and 25mcg liothyronine (self-sourced). I now don't

Vitamin B6 Toxicity: Available Testing of B6 Plasma Level Does NOT Tell You What You Need to Know

Background
: Vitamin B6 participates as a coenzyme in over 100 different biochemical reactions. When it does so it is converted to the inactive form, pyridoxine. The body contains a recycling loop that restores the pyridoxine to the active form, P5P. Vitamin B2 is required for this process

How overcome a high B12 test from when I must supplement to function?
Both intrinsic factor and parietal antibody tests were positive ("abnormal") with B12 >2000. Methylmalonic Acid is normal at .28. I have Hashimoto's and other autoimmune conditions and I recently learned my mom was being treated for PA when she passed. After suffering so many of the symptoms of PA for

My son is 30. He has been suffering with a major depressive disorder for over 10 years. Hi. I’m new to HealthUnlocked and to this group. I’m also in America, so I hope it’s OK that I post here. I’ll try to put in all the info I have and follow proper posting guidelines. It’s taken me a while to be able to get this post all typed up due to tiredness and brain fog. I just had 3 month follow-up

Timing and reasons for Thyroid blood tests
Recommended by numerous research papers that thyroid testing should be in the morning and before taking daily levothyroxine TSH has a circadian rhythm and is highest in early morning and lowest in afternoon Links to a few research papers and articles https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc

Percent of range
Since your group likes to go by percent of range could you tell me an example of what makes a good balance on free t4, free t3 and tsh. Should they all fall around 50 percent of the range being used for your particular lab?

No thyroid gland so where does TSH fit?
Always wondered but never asked - I had my thyroid removed years ago due to large goitre(+ blood tests normal so all hypo symptoms in my head said GP). Diagnosed from biopsy with Hashimotos. On T4 only til recently (don't convert well at all). Learned so much from this forum, hence now with private

Intrinsic Factor result
bit disappointing it didn’t come back positive., but I know they don’t always accurately reflect the underlying condition. It also means my pernicious anaemia could be due to long term use of PPIs rather than autoimmune gastritis. (By the way stopped PPIs in December last year) .

Hashimotos or secondary hypothyroidism?
Hello, I recently had positive test results for thyroid antibodies, but my TSH and T4 remain in range, but low end. My doctor has suggested that I start treatment to prevent hypothyroidism developing. Actually I already have many key symptoms and I am struggling to cope. I also have a B12 deficiency

Prednisone and fatigue
I realize this is just my experience and I don't know if there's any scientific data behind it but in case this might help someone I wanted to post it. I apparently have become castrate resistant and have restarted Abiraterone about 4 months ago. This is my second time I've been on Abi and this time

Possible Leukoplakia
Hi all.Hope your all doing really well this Tuesday. Yesterday I went to my Dentist for my routine check up and Polish and had the polish and clean first then during my check up the Dentist said you have a small pale (not white) on the inside of my cheek. She said it didn’t look sinister but said it

Wits end
I need some advice please. I am currently on 300mg of pregabalin and one codeine tablet a day but this has stopped working. I struggle to get to sleep and when I do I am woken after 1 - 2 hours with restless legs and sometimes arms. I am at my wits end with exhaustion. I had a full blood count recently

Levothyroxine and Propranolol
Hello, The other day, and purely out of interest, I used the NHS app to read up about Propranolol (P). I could not believe that I have been prescribed a drug that interferes with Thyroxine (T) uptake. P was prescribed by Consultant who was made aware of existing medications. GP has requested lowering
