Biden’s quest to lower drug prices should start with the prostate medication Xtandi
But that's because the Rx Companies want the MO to keep subscribing these meds. https://qz.com/2126025/biden-can-easily-cut-the-price-prostate-cancer-drug-

Attempts to reduce cost of Xtandi in the USA
My husbands cost for
Xtandi
is $10,000 a year on Medicare!!! While no where near wealthy our retirement income exceeds that for help from
Xtandi
or any grants. While researching costs of this drug we found out it was developed by UCLA using government funds!

Chasing rivals, Bayer files Nubeqa for new prostate cancer
Part of that will be to include patients with metastatic, hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) on the label, a group with more advanced disease that is already treated with blockbuster oral androgen receptor inhibitors like Pfizer/Astellas
Xtandi
(enzalutamide) and J&J’s Erleada (apalutamide).

Tried
Xtandi
and it didn’t work. Had new Mets C7/T3. Painful. Had it zapped and is better. Also had lesion left trochanter zapped. Could hardly move my leg. Worked wonders. Had gene testing and was CHK 2. Tried lynparza and it was bad. No help.

PSA stable / oxybutinin side effects
My question is should he start Zytiga or
Xtandi
to lower his PSA more? He is still using the cather and lately has developed bladder spasms and was described oxybutinin but after a few days he developed low blood. He is already on lisinopril and amlodipone also on short term urobel.

Status on Xtandi effect
Hi Folks, you may remember I was speculating that the
Xtandi
dosage was designed in the clinical trials to be at the max possible without incurring adverse side effects. There was little attention paid to the efficacy of the doses.

Intermittant chemo
Also I will be asking about reducing
Xtandi
to 80mg and see if things (PSA) still goes down or remains stable. Any input on these matters from you experts out there ???

Treatment Changes and Good Results
So, I stopped taking it and, after waiting a couple of weeks for my liver function numbers to return to normal, started on
Xtandi
in mid January. This week I had a CT scan, bone scan and blood work to check on progress and all results were positive.

Radium 223
Hi there Just wondering does radium 223 act the same as chemo when it comes to
xtandi
versus abiterone? My hubby has done 6 months of radium 223 while on
xtandi
and will now have scans in feb. Will he be able to try abiterone now or will he be faced with chemo?

I get it
During that time added
xtandi
and when it came time to do it it was hard to pin point all the areas. I think one of the 6 was not in a area most ideal to radiate. Right now am still on
Xtandi
. Have not had any scans since but psa is down.

Moving along
My consultant has talked about adding either
Xtandi
or Zytiga. Having read about the PEACE1 trial, I am favouring Zytiga. Is this the right choice? Should one always be taken before the other and which has the worst side effects?

PSA BIG INCREASE!!!
He is starting the process of looking for a affordable drug,
xtandi
,erleada or nubeqa. My co-pay for theses drugs is over $3000/month. I emailed my MO at Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC, we have a phone appointment on June 7th. His approach is to find the PC and treat it.

Fenbendazole
His PSA this jumped to 22.4 so started on
Xtandi
due to being Type II diabetic. I’ve researched Fenbendazole and curious if anyone has had success adding it to your treatment protocol. He’s been very resistant but is slowly warming up to trying. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

When it rains it pours - Newest 4th Med Onc visit 2 days ago. Extensive ~ 75 min. Most comprehensive cancer eval ever.
Will more than likely repeat PSMA -PET Scan and switch to
Xtandi
or Chemotherapy. Yes, Doug(me) is being referred to Pallative Oncology (reasoning excessive anxiety, uncontrolled energy, worry) soon, waiting on scheduling call next week , unless I call first.
