Blood results
Hello everyone I recently posted on here about having a scan on a swollen thyroid and was advised to request my thyroid blood results. Just spoken to the GP receptionist who said they tested TSH and it was 1.36 and T4 was 19.9 and they were all normal. I have no idea about this so wondered if anyone

Hello everyone, This is my 4th thyroid test (all testing advice adhered to, tests between 9.00-9.40am) over the last 6 months since joining HU and asking for advice. It looks to me like T4 has started to raise. I've listed below all 4 tests for comparison. It's now 47% through the range which seems

Thyroid Disease in Ageing Populations
A new

under Endocrine Connections. I have a nasty suspicion that access will be restricted by a paywall... And another nasty suspicion that those of us in the upper age brackets will strenuously deny many of the assertions that will be made. But that is rather pre-judging

International Thyroid Awareness Week ITAW24. Analogies, and many thanks to tattybogle!
I co-lead ITT Improve Thyroid Treatment group - currently still only on Facebook, but website pending. We work alongside Thyroid UK, The Thyroid Trust and Thyroid Support Group Norfolk which I also co-lead. ITT is doing various things for ITAW24, and sharing a lot of information to help members.

Hi my sister is struggling with her physical health and mood. I have hashimoto and we have family history I’ve got baby and thyroid brain and just wondered what you thought of her TSH results. Meant to be having t3 and t4 also tested to me it looks like her thyroid results have been getting better

Amiodarone and thyroid
Hello, Q for those on Amiodarone. My thyroid has gone from bad to worse and now my gp wants to see me. I’m guessing to put me on more medications. To those on thyroid meds, will I lose this thyroid weight I’ve gained? Tia 🫶

ATA Virtual Patient Forum: International Thyroid Awareness Week - Wednesday, May 29, 2024, 8pm - 9:15pm EDT
In case anyone is interested, registration appears to be open - both in they are accepting registrations AND it is open to the public. It would be interesting to find out about how useful it is. The time makes it somewhat awkward for many in the UK. I think it works out to be 01:00 in the morning

Thyroid test denied
Hi everyone, I'm very confused right now. For the first time in fifteen years, I had a GP asking all sorts of irrelevant questions when I asked my thyroid to be tested and the Free T3 included. In the end, according to them, the lab didn't test the FRee T3. Obviously, this is due to the GP's input

Is four weeks enough time to lower TSH?
My partner and I are currently going through fertility treatment, I had my TSH tested which shows my levels are slightly elevated. At 4.2. The NHS threshold for treatment is 4.9, however the fertility clinic have prescribed thyroxin (50mg) and to be retested in 4-6 weeks, to get my TSH to 2.5 or below

Hypo after all?
Hello everyone, this is my first post, though I’ve been gleaning pearls of wisdom from this site for a couple of years, so thank you all! I’m a 60-year-old male. I’ve had chronic fatigue since 1988; tight forehead pain and a horrible “saturated brain” feeling since the late 1990s (brought on by reading

Effects of Levothyroxine
hi everyone, Thanks to some wonderful advice here I have navigated various GPs who initially suggested my symptoms could all be “psychological” The last GP I spoke to looked back at my TSH from my last pregnancy and found it had been elevated, and had continued to climb over last 4 years. Still “subclinical

First NHS Endo Apt - a battle story
I finally have an NHS endo apt (which they cancelled but I begged to get reinstated) and wanted to be armed with questions - can you help? ... Short story is I've been battling joint/limb pain/numbness for 5 years and been through many departments and had MRI/PET SCANs - all clear. MS/Rheumatism/Lupus
