Hi, I'm 20 years old. I have sickle cell disorder. But what bothers me most is that my eyes is always yellow, and it makes me feel shy.
I try to always drink water but most times drinking water makes me feel nauseated. I don't know why?

Listing query for Lung Transplants England
Can I ask is there still a hold on listing in England, for Lung Transplants? I have been informed lately that the 'super urgent, and urgent' are now lifted and its business as usual, as we all had a window from Covid, bit perplexed as I know of a few patients who fit normal criteria, not yet listed

Will COVID-19 Survivors Require a Lung Transplant in the Future?
Although doctors are currently uncertain about the long-term effects of COVID-19 on the lungs of those who get the disease, they do know that patients who recover from an episode of severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), a secondary condition that can be caused by infections like COVID-19

The great Pred debate
Yes we all want to come off them and yes Rhumi's are totally focused on getting us off them. However, it is my understanding that people who've had an organ transplant will be on Pred for life. Sooo, if you have a kernackered auto immune system, maybe you'll be on Preds for life. If Rhumi could come

Impact of Vasectomy on the Development and Progression of PCa: Preclinical Evidence
New study below [1]. A post on the possible influence of vasectomy on PCa development might seem like navel gazing at this point, but the subject continues to interest me. When the first "bad news" about vasectomy was published long ago, the reaction was unexpected. Rather than warn men about to be

Hello everyone, I have not posted in such a long time. I hope everyone is doing well under the circumstances. About 4 weeks ago I developed pain on my upper back but right side where the ribs are. The last 2 weeks it has been horrendous to the point I have been bedridden. The GP had prescribed a few

Living with Chronic Neuropathic Pain
There is much money in the pain and drug industry. Ethics and the recipients of these drugs do not factor into the bottom line. Profit and Loss Statements mean percentage increases at any cost. It is sad that chronic pain patients are made to feel like drug addicts and treated in a most callous way.

Invitation to see a presentation about fictional and real-life cardiac devices :)
Hi everyone. As many of you know, I'm living the dream and doing a PhD about literary representations of chronic heart disease. I have recorded a presentation about a little bit of my recent research, looking at the fictional cardiac devices of Peter Bunzl's children's novel Cogheart, and how these relate

Severe Sweating After My Kidney Transplant 3 Years Ago.
Oct 31 will be my 3-year kidney anniversary. I take 4mg of Envarsus (Tacro) and 5mg of Prednisone daily. I am doing exceptionally well except for the severe sweating that causes me to change clothing multiple times during the night and day. It happened for a while last year. The doctors did a number

Kidney failure following liver transplant
I'm now 7 weeks post transplant and my liver is working perfectly, but at clinic this week my kidney blood tests were elevated to moderate (stage 3) kidney failure. Is this common following a transplant and is it something that will improve or continue to be a concern or get worse? P.s. I am diabetic
