Is it worth changing from madopar to sinemet
Hi all, i am on 2 x 125mg madopar and 0.7 mg pramipexole 3 times a day and amandatine 100 mg 2 times a day, I find that the medication doesn't seem to help the stiffness too much, has anybody changed from madopar and found that changing to
sinemet
has worked better.

Parkinsonism
All the drugs I've tried --
sinemet
, neurontin, amantidine, etc -- have backfired and resulted in a wild exacerbation of all my symptoms. In many ways I look like a classic PD person but not in others. I had a DaT scan which was inconclusive. Now I'm on zonisamide.

What I don't get is...
When I try any of these meds --
sinemet
, amantidine, even neurontin -- the tremor, which is in my right arm/hand, spreads to my right leg, head and voice and speeds up too. I feel like I've gone from the "wash" cycle to the "spin" cycle! Have any of you had this experience?

Generic Drugs
I take Stalevo, Ropinerole, Trihexyphenidyl and half
Sinemet
CR. These have worked well for me. However, my GP has advised that they intend to change my Ropinirole tablet with a tablet called Repinex XL This appears to be the generic trade name and the tablets are said to be same as Ropinerole.

Haldol Injection for Parkinsons Patient!!! PART 1
I've been taking less
sinemet
than originally started on. I'd even gotten the pain down to minimal. I also have bipolar disorder. About a month ago I had two psychotic incidences. I did have some difficulty with medication management.

New to this board
The
sinemet
worked well, and recently after being sick for three months again the
sinemet
was increased and again the lights are on, and I am functional again. My last visit with the neuro stated I could possibly have a conversion disorder again.

Had anyone found a difference between the generic carb/levo and
sinemet
? Besides the price? I'm taking the generic and get a lot of mucous and swallowing problems after i take it.

Azilect and Sinemet
I tried to take selegeline with
sinemet
25/100 4xday. I quit after a week because the dyskinesia was so bad. My neuro did not discuss with me how or when to reduce the
sinemet
. I would like to try it again. I felt better motor skills. The
sinemet
lasted much longer.

Sudden worsening of symptoms
Until May this Year I was on
Sinemet
62.5 mg 4 times a day, Requip 5mg and Azilect. My only problem was fatigue, but my mobility was good, so my nurse advised me to gradually double my
Sinemet
to 125 mg 4 times daily.

New information on sinemet
Many Parkinson’s disease patients and family members have been unnecessarily alarmed by the continuing reports that
Sinemet
and/or Madopar (European
Sinemet
) may accelerate disease progression, and that doses and drug intervals should be limited.

Does anyone have a good experience with Sinemet?
Everyone talks about all the horrible side effects of
Sinemet
and how their loved one is much better without it! S has been on it now for over a year and I can only say good things. His movement is a lot better now, than it was before, allowing for PSP taking it's toll.
